About the Work
My work is a manifestation of my current obsession—“things that are missing” —especially within one’s spiritual life. My efforts to fill-in the missing items—such as missing prayers, missing guidance, missing time, missing emotions or missing security—are attempts at resolution by recreating the missing component and setting a stage for its existence. The results are colorful scenarios that narrate the desire to have completeness. These are figurative, Frankenstein-esque works with Christian overtones and a vague sense of humor. Many of my works include celestial remains; a reference to the ethereal and to spiritual guidance. How else can I make these things tangible?
