Michelle Belval (King) I have been making art for over 30 years – drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. I received my Associates in Visual Arts from Manchester Community College and am currently completing my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Printmaking at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. Over the years, I have shown works at Monotype Guild of New England's Art of the Unique Print (Paul Mellon Gallery at Choate Rosemary Hall, Wallingford, CT-currently showing), the Southington Public Library artists' space, and The Hartford, Bloomfield, CT offices Slater Memorial Museum, Norwich, CT Emerging Artists show, John Slade Ely House – Center for Contemporary Art, New Haven, CT student show, the Norwich Arts Council Gallery, Norwich, CT. Work also in the collection of the Watkinson Library at Trinity College, Hartford, CT. My current subject interest is mostly in the abstract – dividing space, color and basic shapes. I think of the series of the shapes and colors how they intersect and overlap, and the overlaying of pattern whether a grid or random veil. I try to instill a sense of some curiosity in each print.
